The exchanges

Two or three days by the water: you walk, cycle or kayak, see what the river is up against and ask the people who manage it what can be done. We have done this since 2008.

10 to 12 October 2025, the Netherlands

Exchange in Zeeland

Thirteen participants, water games, a session on legal rights for the Scheldt, kayaks on the Veerse Meer and evenings around the campfire.

8 to 10 May 2026, Belgium

Exchange in Ghent

Fourteen participants worked on flooding and climate. They cycled to the flood defences, met a deputy mayor and a water engineer, and wrote a letter to policymakers.

The timeline since 2008

The water research during the bike tour was completely new to me, but really fascinating. I had no idea what beautiful little creatures live in the water!
